Our Committee
Westwood Preschool and Kids Club is a registered charity, run by a Voluntary Managed Committee.
We depend on donations and the fundraising efforts of parents, our committee, and our community, to be able to keep doing our fabulous work.
Committee responsibilities
Westwood Preschool and Kids Club is a registered charity, run by a Voluntary Managed Committee.
The Committee is responsible for:
- Managing the setting's finances.
- Overseeing the employment/management of the staff.
- Ensuring that the setting provides high quality teaching and learning opportunities for all.
- Continuously enhancing our collaboration with parents and the community in which we serve.
What's involved?
A new committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the autumn term, and is made up of parents of the children who attend the setting and practitioners who have a vested interest in Early Years education.
Committee meetings occur once a term for the Elected Officers and Trustees.
Elected Officers and Trustees are elected annually at the AGM and can only serve a maximum of 10 years on the committee.

Make a difference!
As a community based, voluntary managed setting, we depend on the good will, fundraising and donations of parents and our community to keep going. Aside from the Preschool and Kids Club fees and current early years funding, we have no other income streams.
